Maple syrup stained glass transom
Price :
$
This was a wonderful stained glass transom to design and build.
The client wanted a unique transom piece that would depict a maple syrup farm.
We collaborated and came up with this design concept. Together, we selected the glass colors and styles that best matched her decor.
The finished stained glass transom was a perfect accent to the entry way.
Stained glass Tip:
Choosing your glass.
Depending on time of day and evening, the stained glass artwork takes on different looks.
That is one of the real joys of stained glass, watching its 'aliveness' with the ever changing light that plays through it.
Things to consider are the amount of transparency or opaqueness you want in your finished piece.
Are you hiding a background or enhancing one?
What textures of stained glass will make your piece the most interesting?
You should always consider the amount of transparency, opacity, textures and layout of each individual piece of glass you are working with.
Holding the glass up to the window or to a light table shows you what you will get.
The stained glass project laying on the table and lifted into the light are two very different things.
I suggest putting the cut out pattern piece onto the section of glass you will use and view it before you cut your glass out.
This will make the result of your stained glass art more predictable. |
